Why you need to visit Panama

Visiting Panama should be a must on everyone’s bucket list. Watch the sunrise in the Pacific then have a fresh seafood lunch in the Caribbean. With just 75 kilometers between the ports of Cristobal in the Caribbean and Balboa in the Pacific, traveling between the stunning coastlines is easy and makes Panama an incredible vacation destination. In addition, you will also find breath-taking highlands with a pleasant climate that will make you seriously consider ever returning home.

Panama is a small paradise located in Central America, neighboring Costa Rica to the West and providing a bridge to the east to Colombia and the rest of South America.  With a balmy tropical climate, you will find a comfortable 25 to 30 degrees at any time of the year! The name “Panama” means abundance, and with abundant fish, butterflies and nature it’s easy to see why.

On your visit to Panama, the main cities are Panama and Colon, but for those that like to explore off-the-beaten-track, the country offers exotic places such as El Valle de Anton, Bocas del Toro, the San Blas Archipelago, or the Highlands in Chiriqui. A week definitely won’t be enough to admire all these Panamanian jewels.

In the midst of all this adventure, you should take the time to immerse yourself in the magic of modern engineering with a trip to the Panama Canal. Completed in 1914,  today it allows the transit of about 10 ships per day shortening distances and uniting the world through its waters.

Besides the canal sits the modern metropolis of Panama City, whose bright lights and skyscrapers glitter along the coast providing a spectacular skyline. The best place to admire such a view is from one of the many rooftop bars in the UNESCO World Heritage old town, Casco Viejo.  These four avenues, lined with grand colonial houses and cobbled streets make up one of the liveliest neighborhoods in all of Central America. Browse the artisan shops or purchase your very own Panama Hat before taking a Geisha coffee overlooking in one of the historical plazas looking out at the vast ocean and beyond.

Although home to only 4 million inhabitants, Panama’s mixing pot offers enormous diversity in cultures, races, languages, and religions. Look no further to find the perfect destination for a romantic weekend getaway, an action-packed family adventure or a traveler’s complete cultural immersion.

Whether by air, land or sea, at Inside Panama Tours we are more than ready to take you on your next great adventure.
